I'm joining Five Minute Friday over at the Gypsy Mama. The rules for the post are that it only has to take you five minutes to write. This week's topic is...
Waking up...
For the past year, waking up has been my favorite part of the day. I usually try to get up about an hour before the boys do. This is absolutely my favorite time of the day. Some people can wake right up and hit the ground running, but this hour gives me a chance to wake up slowly and take a few minutes to breath before I start my crazy day.
That's my favorite time of day, too.#3s#1
ReplyDeleteHey, Steph! I'm pretty sure we follow all of the same blogs!!! :) We should just start a support group. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteBefore we had our children, we just did not appreciate the precious quiet and peace of the early morning. Like you, we learned to treasure those minutes where we could gather and prepare ourselves for our day.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those minutes so that you can appreciate and embrace the chaos and joy that children bring!
OK so I need to take lessons from you... its not my favorite time of the day :)
ReplyDeletegirl, i totally get you. i thrive in the early morning hours - like, i've stayed up and drank coffee at 8pm early morning hours. since beginning the commute from where i live to where i teach, the definition of early morning hours has totally changed. now, early mornings mean stumbling out of my bed around 5am and forcing my eyes open as i brush my teeth and get ready for the day. my most successful moments though are when i take that time to wake slowly and converse with my Father. drink some coffee. enjoy the sunrise. if i don't begin my day by rushing, it's amazing what i am able to notice throughout the rest of my time awake. :) awesome post!
ReplyDeleteSame Name...Same blogs! Here's a good name for our support group, "Women with excellent taste!"
ReplyDeleteIf I woke up an hour before the kids, I'd have to be up by 5. I just can't do it! I've tried :) I wish I was one who popped out of bed and started moving.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Mel

OH My! Neither could I. My boys don't get up until about 8:00. I don't think I could do 5:00.
ReplyDeleteOh to have a full hour before the children wake! :-) Those times are few and far between with such early (and curious!), young risers! But I can definitely agree, those moments to wake up slowly and spend some quiet time, those moments are ones I covet and protect!
ReplyDeleteStopping in from 5 Min. Fridays!
I love waking up before the boys, but even more, I love the hour of quiet after bedtime. Hope your weekend is restfull!
